Hi! I am Joice. I have been blogging publicly since 2007, and also have been overwriting my  blog since then due to sheer stupidity. So here I am, trying to make this new one work and hopefully keep for good.

I was born in the late 80s, and I enjoyed growing up in the 90s. Not sure though if it was really the 90s era that I loved, or the fact that I was a carefree kid then, or both. My childhood was awesome anyway.

I was born and raised in Batangas, Philippines in a loving family of six — my beautiful parents and three lovely older siblings. Because I was the youngest, I was instantly my parents’ pet, and my siblings hated me for that. But what can I do? I was a cute and cuddly baby, I was a funny and talented little girl with an above average IQ, I think I deserve the VIP attention. Haha. Although this was the case, my siblings and I all grew up living by the values that our parents taught us, and ended up being best friends as we grow older. I could not ask for any better siblings than my two Ate’s and my Kuya.

Teaching is what I do for a living, and coincidentally, what I do for passion. As a kid I enjoyed teaching my classmates how to read. I loved helping them solve Math problems, and I believed I was effective at it. My parents disapproved of my want to be a teacher though, as they wanted me to be the first doctor in the family.

So I took up Physical Therapy in college. My initial plan was to take Medicine after my BS, but as I immerse myself into the PT life, I loved it more than anything. As I was appreciating my PT life so much, my Medicine plans were to put to the side. Besides, med school’s way too expensive. I graduated in 2009, took and passed my licensure exam that same year, and decided to find myself in the PT practice instead of pursuing Medicine.

Less than a year after starting my practice, I was invited to teach PT. What could be more wonderful than reliving my childhood teacher dream, and continuing the practice that I love and enjoy? Of course I took the chance. I started teaching PT in 2010. It sure feels like it was yesterday, but I actually am already turning four years old as a teacher. Teaching in itself is a thing that is most wonderful to me, and what could be more awesome than teaching the practice that I respect and love the most? Being a PT teacher is just the dreamiest job I could ever have. There’s nothing more I would love to do than teach PT.

To pursue further professional education, I took up my Master’s degree in PT in 2010, and graduated three years after (2013).

When I’m not at work, I enjoy baking. I started this hobby a few years back and I have been trying to perfect my recipes — cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. Baking is what I usually do in my free time especially when I’m at home in Batangas. I’m still not an expert at it, but I try, and I genuinely enjoy making photogenic baked goodies. Hihi.

When I’m not at work, and I don’t bake, I do make up. As a teen, make up was not part of my system. I could not care less about how I look back in highschool and college. My relationship with cosmetics started after college graduation. It was my professional oath taking after board exams, and I did not want to go to the salon for hair and make up, so I went to my trusted old youtube and looked for make up tutorials. I was pretty successful with my first make up gig on myself, and the rest was history. I started expanding my collection, and began to do make up for my sisters and my friends. Until I got invited for photoshoots (since photography was a budding hobby/profession as well), events, and the likes. I still do make up, and am planning to enroll in a make up school in the future (hopefully this year).

Traveling is a luxury that I spend a lot on as well. I grew up in a family where our basic needs were met, and traveling was not one of those. So when I got the means (and time) to explore the world, I took every chance there was. I have also found the joy of traveling alone. Although I have not explored a lot of places locally, I’m getting there. The Philippines is such a beautiful island, and it will be a shame to not be able to see the rest of it.

My life is beautiful.

And yours is, too. You just have to think it to feel it.

Smile always,

sig

  1. Hi Anna! I stumbled upon your blog in gtalk. What a nice and very positive “About” page you have here! I read your HIMYM post haha and though it isn´t one of my favorite sitcoms, I have watched it intermittently through the years. Will watch the finale nga to see what the fuss is all about. Cheers and keep writing!

  2. hi there, I love your Tapik guesthouse blog. I wonder where’s the rest of it though. It must be equally good since you are in Palawan. keep it up! God bless.
